Summer

FRUIT & VEGETABLES – plant beans (dwarf and climbing), beetroot, broccoli, cabbage, capsicum, carrot, cauliflower, celery, chicory, chilli, Chinese cabbage, cucumber, eggplant, endive, kohlrabi, leek, lettuce, okra, parsnip, potato (tubers), radish, rhubarb (crowns), shallots, silver beet, spring onion, sweet corn, sweet potato and zucchini.
FLOWERS – plant ageratum, alyssum, boronia, calceolaria, cleome, cyclamen, Iceland poppy, linaria, malope, marigold, pansy, schizanthus, stock, verbena, vinca, viola and wallflower.
Autumn
HERB – plant coriander, garlic bulbs, marjoram, oregano, parsley, thyme and winter tarragon.
FRUIT & VEGETABLE – plant broad beans, English spinach, green beans and peas.
FLOWERS – plant alyssum, calendula, candytuft, carnation, cineraria, cornflower, cosmos, daisy, foxglove, lobelia, nasturtium, nemesia, pansy, poppy, primula, schizanthus, snapdragon, sweet pea and viola.
Winter
HERB – plant chamomile, comfrey, coriander, cress, dill, feverfew, garlic bulbs, lavender, lemon balm, marjoram, mint, mustard, oregano, parsley, sage, shallots and thyme.
FRUIT & VEGETABLE – plant lettuce, broccoli, cauliflower, leeks, peas, beetroot, asparagus, broad beans, onions, rhubarb, carrot, celery, radish, spinach, cabbage, Chinese greens, Pak choi can be harvested just 3-4 weeks after planting.
FLOWERS – plant pansies, violas, cineraria, calendula, dianthus, lobelia, snapdragon, stock, gypsophila, cineraria, Canterbury bells, cyclamen, daisy, lavender, daphne, polyanthus, snow drops, lily of the valley, euryopsis, perennial petunia, osteospermum, cineraria 'Silver Dust' and poppies for winter colour. Small native shrubs such as leptospermum and grevillea can be planted now and are a good option for a difficult spot as they are tough and tolerate dry conditions.
Sow candytuft, cornflower, delphinium, English daisy, godetia, hollyhock, larkspur, linaria, lupin, nemesia, nigella, phlox, polyanthus, primula, schizanthus, statice, strawflower, sweet pea and wallflower.
Spring
HERBS – sow basil, chives, coriander, dill, min, oregano, parsley, sage and thyme.
FRUIT & VEGETABLES – sow beans, beetroot, broccoli, Chinese cabbage, capsicum, cucumber, eggplant, endive, lettuce, melons, okra, onion, parsnip, potato, pumpkin, radish, rhubarb, rosella, silver beet, spring onion, squash, sweet corn, sweet potato, tomato and zucchini.
FLOWERS – sow amaranthus, aster, balsam, begonia, carnation, chrysanthemum, cockscomb, coleus, cosmos, dahlia, dianthus, everlasting daisy, gazania, gerbera, impatiens, marigold, nasturtium, petunia, phlox, Iceland poppy, portulaca, rudbeckia, salvia, snapdragon, sunflower, torenia, verbena and zinnia.
